A Day in the Job

Timber harvesters start the day by preparing their machines to make sure they are fully operational and won’t cause a safety hazard. After that they must find a good tree to cut down, usually selected and marked a few days ago. Then they use chainsaws, axes, and wedges to cut down the tree. The axe isn’t used for cutting but to shove the wedges in the mark the chainsaw made. They then use a large machine to grab the logs and put them in trucks to be taken to a factory.
